| Are you familiar with the healing oils of ancient times? |
Essential oils are one of the great untapped resources of the
world. According to the translation of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics and Chinese
manuscripts, priests and physicians were using essential oils thousands of years before
the time of Christ. |
| Aromatherapy |
Aromatherapy means to treat with aroma through inhalation.
Science is rediscovering the power of aromatherapy created by the essential oils. |
| Colloidal Minerals |
Colloidals are microscopic-sized electrically charged
particles. When absorbed by the body, colloidals act like a magnet, helping to pull
broken-down cells into the bloodstream to be eliminated. Meanwhile, the body is
replenished with nourishing, life-enriching minerals. Millions of years ago, Mother
Nature yielded a nutritional powerhouse. Prehistoric plant life was packed with one of
natures most amazing nutrients colloidal minerals. Unlike ground-up minerals
mined from geological deposits, colloidal minerals are taken from plants that have already
assimilated inorganic minerals from rocks and soil. Through a process called
photosynthesis, the plants have converted these precious minerals into organic colloidals
that are easily absorbable by the human body. |
| Did you know that most of us today are suffering from
certain diet deficiencies? |
The shocking fact is that even if you pride yourself on
eating a well-balanced diet, youre probably among most Americans who are lacking in
at least one major mineral! The root of this problem lies in the mineral-poor earth. As
far back as 1936, Senate Document No. 264 warned Americans that the soils used to grow
fruits and vegetables were seriously deficient in needed minerals. Continuous cropping and
the ravages of pollution even then were robbing the soil of the minerals needed to sustain
life. |
| Essential Oils |
Essential oils are the subtle, volatile liquids that are
distilled from plants, shrubs, flowers, trees, roots, bushes, and seeds. They are the
regenerating and oxygenating immune defense properties of plants. The life blood of the
plant functions like blood in the body. When a plant leaf is torn, usually a clear liquid
seeps out, similar to when you bleed from a cut. This liquid has a similar purpose in the
plant as the blood does in the body by cleansing the cut, protecting the wound, fighting
harmful microorganisms, and providing nutrients and oxygen for cell regeneration. "For
as long as we know, people have been distilling and otherwise processing certain plant
materials to extract their powerful healing essences. The word chemistry comes from
the Greek word chemia, meaning plant juice." (Valerie Ann Worwood, The
Fragrant Mind, New World Library, Novato, California, 1996, 12) |
| Essential Oils and Humans |
"Essential oils and human beings have a great deal in
common. We are both alive - chemically, electrically, and in terms of infrared radiation.
Essential oils come from plants, while we ourselves rely totally on plants for our
sustenance. We eat plants, and animals which eat plants, and breathe air made possible by
plants." (Valerie Ann Worwood, The Fragrant Mind, New World Library, Novato,
California, 1996, 11) |
| Gattefosse, René-Maurice |
The scientific study of the therapeutic properties of
essential oils was started by the French cosmetic chemist, René-Maurice Gattefosse, in
the 1920s. While making fragrances one day in his laboratory, Gattefosse burned his arm
very badly and thrust it into the nearest cold liquid which happened to be a tub of
lavender oil. He was surprised to find that the pain lessened considerably and that, far
from developing into a normal burn reaction of redness, heat, inflammation, and blisters,
his wound healed very quickly and left no scar. From then on, Gattefosse dedicated the
rest of his life to researching the remarkable healing properties of natures
essential oils. It was he who coined the term "aromatherapy." |
| Herb |
A seed plant which does not develop woody persistent tissue,
as that of a shrub or tree, but is more or less soft or succulent. It is used for
medicinal purposes, or for its sweet scent or flavor. |
| Hippocrates |
Hippocrates, the father of medicine, said that "the way
to health is to have an aromatic bath and scented massage every day." |
| Massage |
Massage is the most natural of natural remedies. Touching
your body where it hurts seems to be a basic instinct. A therapist trained in the famous
Swedish massage uses soothing, tapping and kneading strokes to work the entire body,
relieving muscle tension and loosening sore joints. |
| Minerals |
Minerals have been called the catalysts of life. Without an
abundant supply of minerals in the proper balance, all of the functions of the body would
shut down. They allow for the proper utilization of vitamins and other nutrients, and in
many cases supply the proper building blocks and catalysts for these nutrients to be
manufactured by the body when they are not otherwise available. |
| Neuromuscular Therapy |
Neuromuscular therapy is a form of deep tissue massage that
is applied to individual muscles. It is used to increase blood flow, reduce pain and
release pressure on nerves caused by injuries to muscles and other soft tissue. |
